Project Specification: Installation of 72 steel driven tube foundations for lighting columns and CCTV masts.  The tubes were installed in 10 shifts using only 1 installation team which consisted of 3 men and an excavator.

Project Duration: Work commenced on 6th February and was completed by 28th February 2010.

Design & Build: Terrawise’s partner, ScrewFast Foundations, were contracted to design a foundation to carry a single 7m lighting column.  The end result was a driven tube foundation, extremely fast to install, as well as removing the need to excavate on a steep embankment.

The steel tube was 2m high 323mm x 8mm. The piles were vibrated into the ground, and the top 850mm of the pile augured out to receive the lighting standard. The standard was then vertically aligned and grouted into position.
